My Process

"Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth."

My research led me to a series of experiments with typography by multiplying and manipulating text.

Le'an Typeface

I designed a font more personal to me inspired by my family falling apart around 20 years ago, when my parents got divorced.

Family dinners and togetherness is a perfect example of family in Israel, which raised an interesting question in my mind coming from a family of divorce.

Using paper cutouts, I disassembled, cut, and removed the words 'family cell,' 'belonging,' and 'outside'. This inspired me to create the typeface, Le'an (where to). The shape of the letters for the typeface stem from the negative spaces created by the paper cutouts.
